DİLA ENTEGRE TARIM SAN. VE TİC. LTD. ŞTİ.
“Dila Entegre Tarım is a fully owned company of Avrupa Holding, which was established for the purpose of olive cultivation and olive oil production.
Our love of olives and olive oil started in 2008 with our visit to the land in Izmir, Seferihisar, Ulamış Village, this land was bought years ago for investment purposes. The discovery of olive trees in the land, not visited for years, having turned into a forest, surprised us all. We found about 1000 middle age and older olive trees, some of them “crazy” olive trees, on the cleared land. The olive trees nourished by nature in the Aegean lands, where agriculture has been done for centuries, were greeting us with all their beauty as if they were waiting to be discovered.
During the time we spent in Ulamış Village, we met the villagers, especially the elderly ones. This is how we learned that a large family producing olive oil years ago developed our olive grove and is one of the oldest and most rooted olive groves in the region. The story of the olive grove led us to learn more about the olive tree and olive oil. Our family love for olives has developed so much that we intended to bring our olive grove back to life, with a very different view from our for-profit activities, with the hope of keeping this value we discovered alive forever. We started to work in returning it to its original form and forward with contemporary techniques. We named our young company, which we founded for this purpose, after our beloved Dila, one of the youngest in our family, with the desire to represent our heartfelt love.
A team of agricultural engineers and technicians was formed under the leadership of our esteemed teacher Tanfer Dinler. After studies on the topography of the land, the location of the trees and their placement on the map, reclamation, rearrangement and new tree planting has started. These efforts were enthusiastically supported by the villagers who gave up hope of olive cultivation in the region. Together, we believed that our work would bring mobility to the entire region and provide economic development.
During this period, we achieved 120,000 m2 of olive groves by purchasing from neighboring lands. As the increasing size became technically and economically more efficient, we structured our olive groves as an R&D center for professional olive oil production. Technical studies revealed that trees can be planted by terracing on the land. After the root cleaning and terracing works, which are very important for the maintenance of the olive tree and harvesting, the “Memecik” and “Ayvalık” saplings that will be the happiest in the soil, water and climatic conditions of the region, have been planted. At the end of 2009, 3000 new saplings were planted in our land, to be a legacy for the future by preserving the existing one. Although there is no example in the environment, we preferred irrigated agriculture for more efficient olive production with the suggestion of Tanfer Dinler. Using the water from the wells we drilled, we irrigated our land with the water given to it by nature with the drip irrigation technique.
Since then, we have been squeezing our olive crops in our village or in the neighboring villages, in olive oil continuous facilities with an organic agriculture certificate. The maintenance and harvesting of olive groves is done with techniques based on scientific foundations but not forgetting traditionalism. We use hand picking method with very little percussion and shaking technique in olive picking.
Our olive oil, which we first started to produce under the name v’olio (2011-2012), entered the top 20 among 120 samples in the “The Most Beautiful Olive Oil of the Peninsula” competition, which includes the districts of Urla, Karaburun, Çeşme and Seferihisar. In 2013, our olive oil managed to be included in the book, where the olive oil samples from all over the world are evaluated and the prominent ones are gathered under the name “Flos Olei” every year.
In 2014, we crowned the good agricultural practices, which we have been maintaining since the beginning, with the decision to start organic farming, as we see concepts such as environment, health, ecology and nature above the values of the modern age such as trade, profit and consumption. We succeeded in producing our organic extra virgin olive oil in 2018 by completing the three-year transition period, and we decided to say goodbye to “v’olio” and continue our “organic” olive oil production under the name “ageo”.
In ancient Aegean civilizations, the olive tree, its fruit and olive oil were symbols of wealth, strength and endurance. Our aim is to produce ORGANIC olive oils that will be recognized in Turkey and in the international sector for their quality and taste, from the olives of Seferihisar and Ulamış region under the name “ageo”, while protecting the natural heritage of the Aegean by reviving olive cultivation in a region that is about to be forgotten.”
